Infection is one of the big problems and requires costs in the healing process. Infections often occur in hospital intensive care rooms which often occur in post-operative cases and cases with the use of tools and treatment procedures that must use the use of sterile principles in the procedure of implementation measures. This study aims to determine the Nurse's Motivation in Prevention of Infection in Post-Surgical Patients in the ICU Room of the Medan Hajj Hospital in 2011. This research uses descriptive design. The population in the study The population in this study were all nurses in the Icu Hospital Haji Medan room as many as 26 nurses and all of them were sampled. Sampling in this study was to use porposive sampling of 25 nurses who became respondents. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire. Data that has been obtained manually by the steps of editing, coding, tabulating, scoring, and analyzing data. The results of data collection are presented in the form of frequency and percentage distributions. The results of the study of 25 respondents were well-informed majority of 5 people (19.3%), while 15 people (61.4%) and less 5 people (19.3%). The results of this study can be concluded that the Nurse's Motivation in Prevention of Infection in Post-Surgical Patients Against infection prevention in post-patients is moderate. So it is expected that the leadership of the hospital, especially the head of the ICU field hospital in Medan to further enhance and explore the motivation of nurses in the prevention of infection in post-surgical patients, make the Principal Duties and Functions (Auth) and clear Supervision (Waskat), and train nurses in the prevention of infections in surgical wounds to prevent complications.
